Directions for Use & Dosage
- Adults (aged 18 years and over): Take one 20mg tablet once daily in the morning.
- Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water. Do not chew, crush, or break the tablet, as this damages the enteric coating protecting the active micro-pellets.
- Onset of Action: This medicine does not provide immediate symptomatic relief; peak efficacy is generally achieved after 2 to 3 days of continuous use.
- Duration of Treatment: Do not take this medication for longer than 14 consecutive days without consulting a doctor. If your symptoms worsen or do not improve after 14 days, please contact your GP or speak to our pharmacy team.
Warnings & Clinical Precautions
- Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or suspect you may be pregnant, consult your GP or pharmacist before taking this product. Do not take Losec® Control if you are breastfeeding.
- Driving and Operating Machinery: While Losec® Control is generally well tolerated, adverse effects such as visual disturbances or dizziness may occasionally occur. If affected, avoid driving or operating machinery until symptoms completely subside.
- Medical Screening: Consult your doctor prior to purchase if you have unintended weight loss, recurrent vomiting, difficulty swallowing, anaemia, or are undergoing concurrent treatment with prescription medications (such as clopidogrel, methotrexate, or antiretrovirals).
- Storage: Keep all medicines out of the sight and reach of children. Store in the original package in order to protect from moisture.
Possible Side Effects
Like all medicines, Losec® Control can cause side effects, although not everybody experiences them.
Common side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 people): Headache, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhoea, flatulence (wind), nausea, or vomiting.If you experience any allergic reactions (e.g., swelling of the face, tongue, or throat; difficulty swallowing; hives), discontinue use immediately and seek urgent medical assistance.
Active Substance: Each gastro-resistant tablet contains 20mg omeprazole (as omeprazole magnesium).
Excipient Warning: Contains sucrose. If you have an intolerance to certain sugars, contact your doctor before taking this product.
